Spring is approximately 6 weeks away. Have you chosen the winning color palette for your interiors yet? Here are a few tips and tricks for choosing a color palette that supports your lifestyle and an interior that you can be proud of for years to come.
Choose a great base color
A “base” color would be considered one that goes with everything: white, muted colors like gray, pale green or yellow can serve as great base colors. Basic black can also be a good base color; however, you will want to use it in small doses for a Spring interior. Find a base color you love but that feels more like the perfect background music – heard but barely audible – and get ready to build on it!

Rely on existing color guides
Color theorists have already done the hard part for us. Build on your base color with a dominant primary or secondary color and mix in supportive colors. Use your primary colors wisely as colors that “pop” to spice up a beige, gray or white color base for example. Use that color as your anchor to find meaningful home accessories – but don’t overdo it! You can, of course, use complimentary colors like red and green, blue and orange, yellow and purple, however, use these when you want to highlight a design element. Consider adding pops of color using custom items like the headboard matching bedding in this energizing and whimsical bedroom. Feel free to play with this color palette tool to decide which colors you want to play prominently in your interiors.
Have fun with various tints and hues
Choose fabrics that are beautiful to look at, have a great texture and will make your room even more memorable. Use the magic of custom pillows and reupholstery to bring a sense of uniqueness to your room. Take your old couch and use a custom slipcover in a fabric that supports your new color scheme. Here at Rockville Interiors, we offer customers fabric choices from the widest collection from across the world.
